I have been buying gold coins from Chemmanur Jewellers, Thippasandra. When I actually went to my jeweller to make some ornaments, I was told that the coins which were suppose to be 91.6% purity 22k were actually only 21k that means it was only 87.5% pure gold. I thought it might be a mistake and left it. Recently, I gave the coins to one of the jewellers in chennai and to my horror, he told me the same thing. I have all the bills with me. It says 91.6% gold purity. I have got cheated. Lot of people asked me not to buy any gold/gold jewellery from chemmanur but I thought maybe they had a bad experience but no, it is true. They are cheaters.
2 years back when i bought a coin from them, they took only the standard gold rate from me... after sometime they started taking 30rs as the making charge per gm of gold coin. I was fine till then. they told me that the tax is included in the standard gold rate. Then when i started buying more, they started charging 50rs per gm making charge and vat extra. Just for one gm of gold coin I had to pay close to 200rs extra. They are perfect cheaters. Every time you go, their rules change and they trick you with that idiotic calculator of theirs.!!!
BEWARE never buy anything from chemmanur jewellers. My trust is shaken as I have paid for 22k but what I have is only 21k... I have suffered huge losses and I swear will never ever step in their shop again.
