Hello, I am Neeraj Chourasia working with a PSU. I realised now that I must share my experience with all of you when I stopped one of my colleague doing a blunder when he was going to hire M/s AGARWAL PACKERS & MOVERS (DRS Group) for shifting of their house hold goods.
I was transferred from Kolkata to New Delhi in April I had enquired from 3-4 packers in Kolkata for packing and shifting cost of my household good to New delhi.
I also invited M/s M/s AGARWAL PACKERS & MOVERS to give their quotations. One Mr. Virendra Singh (Mobile No 9830035131) from that company came, verified my house-hold, measured sizes of major items like bed, sofa, almirahs, ACs etc., promised for experienced packing services and safe transport in a 19’ length container. He had given me the quotation (Sl no 4100840 dated 19/04). He pursued 2/3 times over phone for confirmation of booking. I had finally ordered him for packing and moving my household goods though they were charging Approx 4000/- more than my 2nd highest quotationers. I was lured by their advertisement, fancy folder and man in uniform.
DAY 1 of Packing :
Packing was scheduled to start from 22/04 (Sunday). Agent had told me that by 9 AM their gang will arrive for the job.By 12 noon, when no-one arrived, I called mr. singh for the status. He called me back that packers are on the way and about to arrive may be they might have unaware of the destination. I was convinced. Finally around 3 PM two persons arrived my place to start packing (they informed me that they were started moving after taking their lunch ie around 1:30 PM). I was amused, how they do packing with only 2 persons. I call back to Mr. Singh. He informed me that his job is only marketing. He gave number of some other persons (9331214321, 9830027488, 9350419520) who used to supervise the packing work. When I contact that numbers, one of them (Mr Salil Sinha/Saha) told me full packers gang will deployed from tomorrow. I again convinced and hopeful that my packing and loading may be done by tomorrow evening.
DAY 2 of packing :
Tommorrw by 11 AM, again two (2) persons from Agarwal Packers & Movers arrived and they were new face. I again contacted him…Mr Sinha promised more persons will arrive within 2-3 hours. No more persons came. Packing (worst packing) is going on in my house with 2 persons…only 25% job completed till 2nd day of packing.
I contacted their HQ at Hyderabad. I talked to Mr Anil Reddy, MD, Hyderabad (040-39818800/8811, Mobile No 9393064321). He takes all information, quotation no etc..
DAY 3 of packing :
On the third day of packing…….In morning a truck of poor condition with broken carrier arrived in front of my house. Again 2 persons arrived (one of them was new face) with 6 no of road-side daily wages labours for packing and for loading in truck.. I got disturbed how roadside daily wages labours can do packing of my hard-earned household goods? I again contacted Mr Reddy (Hyderabad HQ) for his help and intervention. He told me he shall talk to their Kolkata office to solve this problem..but futile. I realised they do not have their staff and regular labour.
By evening 7PM, they started loading of partly packed goods…packing still going on for the rest of items..The truck got overloaded as it was a small sized truck. I informed their supervisor that The marketing agent Mr Virendra Singh told me at the time of booking that goods are for at-least 19’ length truck but you had sent me 17’ length truck.
Finally when No space left in the truck.., they offered me that rest of items will be transported in another shared truck..I refused and demands replacement of truck.
My whole house was in the street…some are on the truck..opened and overloaded…partly on the floor…. Rains are about to come but they are adamant not to change truck and insisting of transport of rest items from another transport..THEY even instructed their driver to start moving truck with item loaded but the driver refused to move with so much overloading.
WORST experience of my life. I was virtually crying how this packers company are behaving with my household goods which I accumulated in my life with my hard-earned money.
I asked my friend and colleague for some help. One of my colleagues suggested another packer for transportation. I immediately contacted Mr Anuj Singh of M/s Asured Cargo Services, Kolkata at his no 9903359331 and explained my situation. He immediately arranged a 21’ length closed container and send 6-8 labours to my house. They started shifting my goods to the just arrived truck mounted container and completed the job in next one hour… when I closed the gate of container and personally locked its gate..The rain god started smiling heavily…I was relieved..My goods were safe now.
I paid packing and loading charges to M/s AGARWAL PACKERS & MOVERS and terminated their contract. It was one of my worst and unforgettable experiences of my life.
