Annual fee charge on Life time free card and closing of card without inform to me

Dear Sir,

I would like to inform you that I am holding HSBC credit card 4476 9212 0830 3465

since December to till date. But till date they have not charged me any annual fee for the said card. Also note I have not paid any fee towards the annual fee.

Now suddenly they charged me annual fee of Rs 700.00 in the sixth year. Five

years back when I accepted this card, executive told me that the card is life time

free. Hence I accepted the card.

I called customer care for reversal of annual fee on 11st December. I talked with Mr. Shiva. But I was not satisfied with his answer. I already sent mail for reverse of annual fee but they are not ready to reverse. Next day I received mail from them they cant reverse annual fee. Their record shows that my card is not life time free. Also said that my card is close from 12th December.

As per my knowledge the card is life time free. Please make a note that they have not charged me annual fee in the past. This is first time they charge me annual fee.

Again I called customer care, this time I talked with Ms. Rekha. She told me that they cant reverse the annual fee. If I am ready to pay annual fee then only they can activate card. I would like to request you that please help me in this matter.

Please do the needful.
