Hi,
I have been having a major issue with Stnadard Chartered Bank Credit Card Division. My name is Manish Kapoor and I work for Hughes Systique,
Just to give you a background I had approached Union Bank of India for doing a housing loan application
for a house. UBI had taken out a report from CIBIL in which there is an amount of Rs
5, 05, 480/- against some credit card which was issued to me in 1995 and it has also shown as a
write off in this sheet.
Firstly I was really shocked to know that such an amount has been
reflected against my name as there was no such case pending with me where
I had not paid the amount due, I have
done quite a few loans before but somehow
no one had pointed out this issue to me.
What I do recollect is that there was a credit card issued by Standard
Charterd Bank way back in 1995 and there was an amount of Rs 10, 000-15, 000
outstanding on the same, which I had settled through there agent / DSA's
, after that I had been approached by main Standard Chartered Bank and I
had shared all the receipts with them and they had confirmed to me that
the case had been closed and nobody shall raise this issue again.
Since then for past 10 years nobody has raised this issue and from my side
also the issue had been closed.
The surprising part is that how such a nominal amount, even after it had
been settled, how can it be shown so high in proportions which is close to
50 times of it's original outstanding.
After that I had contacted Standard Chartered Bank and got to know that they will settle this case for Rs 21, 000 and they
shall issue me a CIBIL letter to get my name cleared.
This happened in Nov'2009 and I did go ahead and make a payment of rs 16230 to clear the account.
I also got a letter that the amount shall be removed from CIBIL and the same shall be rectified.
But to my horror I just discovered today that amount is existing in the records and as per the customer care person in Standard Chartered the letter of settlement that was given is null and void.
I really want some help to take this case forward against Standar Chartered Bank.
