Subject: Misuse of clients documents my KPMG employees KPMG, Pune
The mail is being written to bring fore the misuse of documents by KPMG PEBC Pune which is involved in Back
Ground checks of Employees belonging to Major IT and Banking companies.
As the Background check process requires all employees to provide the documents such as mark sheet, ID
cards Pan Card, Passport, address proof to the vendors doing background for verification of credentials, these same documents are stored on servers and the access of these information and documents are
available to all employee doing back ground check. But unfortunately no measure is taken to secure the documents
from falling in wrong hand which is leading to the misuse of these documents by many KPMG employees for getting
fictitious SIM Cards, Credit Cards to opening bank accounts under fake name i.e. name of client’s employee.
Repeated warnings given to the Management authority of KPMG Pune about the misuse but for some or other
reason they did not pay attention and instead kept the issues under wraps to avoid any undue publicity. So we have
decided to bring the issues to public view for the well being of the society and more specially young professional.
One can often hear this executives discussing about the different usage of these documents which is a very serious
ethical issue and highlights the credibility and professionalism of KPMG employees who have a duty of protecting the
credibility of these documents.
An awareness need to be build up among IT and Banking companies who are using such kind of vendors and also
the vendors in turn needs to monitor the security of these documents and unearth these anti social employees who
are involved in such scandals for endangering the carriers and reputation of these candidates.
