I am constrained to bring to your kind notice my complaint against Shri Soumen Chatterjee (Loan section) SBI, Serampore Branch for insubordination and unbecoming
conduct which is grossly against all forms of “ Customer Service” norms in any good organization as also a Human Right Violation and against RTI norms.
In Jan I approached Shri Soumen Chatterjee for Rs. 3, 00, 000.00 loan which was granted to me against my property value of Rs. 12, 00, 000.00 (estimated by the SBI). There after he bound to me for FD amount of Rs. 75, 000.00 for extra mortgage. At the same time on account of pay revision and pay arrears I requested for additional Rs.2, 50, 000.00 loan on account of my increase in repayment capacity. Sri Soumen Chatterjee informed me that the additional amount of Rs, 2, 50, 000.00 cannot be sanctioned at that time and that I should contact him one year later, i.e Apr/ May.
Hence, I contacted Sri Soumen Chatterjee on 11 May for Rs. 2, 50, 000/- loan as “promised/assured” by him the previous year. On 11 May Sri Soumen Chatterjee reneged on his word and denied making any such comment regarding loan of Rs.2, 50, 000/- and instead spoke to me very rudely and in an unbecoming manner. I was made to wait for 30 mins while Sri Soumen Chatterjee attended to a mobile call of a personal nature. Apart from this he refused to redeem my FD of Rs. 75, 000.00 saying that I am not entitled to break my FD. As also he insinuated that I declare all value and assets on my name.
In short, I as a genuine customer of SBI feel short-shifted and slighted by the response of Sri Soumen Chatterjee whose job is to look after customers interest and not course problems and harassment.
In the end, Sir I am already managed the amount of Rs, 2, 50, 000.00 from broken of General Provident Fund other assets and loan from LIC against my policies. But I am shocked for unbecoming behavior from the staff of largest bank of India i.e State Bank of India.
