I recieved a phone call from a man with a foreign accent who told me that I was elligable for a free grant of anywhere from $5000-$25000. All I had to do was pay a one time application processing fee of $299.
I was a little sketchy about the whole thing. It seemed to good to be true. I made sure to speak with the company a few times before giving my checking account information.
The worst part about this whole thing is that when they went to withdraw the money from my account, I had insufficient funds which should not have allowed them to take out any money, so they called me saying that they went to withdraw the money, but were not able to.
The next week I went to my bank and it showed that they had in fact taken out the money, twice!!! There phone number, 1-866-373-1009, has since been disconnected and I got completely scammed. This put me in $500 debt when you include all of the overdraft charges and I was soon after forced to close my checking account.
Please make sure that you do research before ever giving out any bank information because it can cost you big time as it did to me.
