I have recently given an interview in an engineering college and was selected. I was not happy that they had asked me to submit my original Marks Card and Original Degree Certificates. The college asked me to sign the Offer letter and to hand over the degree certificates to the college. I signed the Offer letter and handed it to the HR. The immediate next week, I approached the HR saying I would not be in a position to join the college due to personal health issues. The college still had 1 month more to commence. The HR refused to hand over my certificates. I plead in front of HR, Principal and HOD. It is 5 months now, and they are not even bothered to respond to my query. My certificates are struck in the college and they are asking for 2 months salary to be paid in take the certificate. I do not know what to do now. I cannot apply for any other jobs as my Original certificate is with the college. I am also planning to do further studies in Phd as well. But not able to do as my certificates are not returned.
I would appreciate if someone can help me or guide me to get my certificates returned. My parents have spent huge money for my completion of degree and If i loose this certificate I am of no use to this world. Please help!!!
