I request the people who joining Intelenet Global Service (IGS), Chennai. Before joining ensure what are the policy regarding resignation and settlement. Because I got lot of pains from IGS even I worked outstanding and meritorious for the 3 years. Please read the below experience I had with that company.
I worked in IGS, Chennai from April - 2006 to March - 2009. As I got better opportunity I submitted my resignation to immediate supervisor as per company policy. In the resignation I mentioned that I could give 20 days’ notice period instead of 30 days because my new employer want to join me within 20 days and my Last working day was 31st March 2009. When I submitted my resignation they just kept my resignation and they did the exit interview formalities. On the last working day when I went and asked about my resignation they told I need to work ten more days which was shocked for me. As I committed to my new company I joined 1st April 2009.
After that within a week IGS sent the letter to me. In that they mentioned without any prior information I took leave and I needed to report back with 2-3 days which was not possible. After two month back they sent the letter with settlement information. In the letter they stating that I absconded from that company without any resignation letter (even though I sent the soft copy of my resignation to my supervisor that time).
My last month salary which was hold they credited back to my account. Also they settled my PF. In the settlement they deducted one month salary from my 33 days leave balance. Suppose they could have deducted 10 days only which was short. But they didn’t do that.
After that I walked/ talked so many times with so many people they didn’t give my relieving letter. Which is the only due from their side.
If my real intention was abscond, then I could have not submitted my resignation letter before 20 days and I could have got my last month salary on April 1st 2009 and I could have come out from that company. But, I am a meritorious/ responsible employee I didn’t do that.
Even though I followed the company policy they didn’t follow the proper way in relieving me.
Hence I sent the legal notice through my advocate recently i.e., May 2011. They sent the reply notice. Now they accepted that I submitted the resignation. But due to short fall of 10 days they invalidated or cancelled my resignation letter.
Now I file the case against that company. I have all the letters, proofs against them.
