Anand motors pvt ltd dealer for maruti
Harrassment by Anand Motors dealer of Maruti Cars

I am filing complaint against the Maruti dealer Anand Motors (Faizabad Road, Chinhat Lucknow, UP).

The workshop Anand Motors is harrasing me and not delivering my car Maruti Swift. I was asked to come and collect my vehicle on the 8th of August. I called the workshop several times and I was told not to come to pick up the vehicle as they were short of staff and the car was not in ready condition. I requested them several times to give the delivery on Sunday as I am not able to come during weekdays to collect the car due to my work hours. But the workshop advisors stopped receiving my calls and the car was not delivered on Sunday.

The next day, Monday 9th of August i called the workshop and requested them to deliver the car to my office as I am not able to come due to office but they refused and the General Manager told me that the car is ready and I can come to collect it.

When I reached the workshop, to my surprise the car was not in ready condition and the works had not been completed. I was told by the workshop people that it is ready but the car was not even in driving condition and had not even been cleaned and polished.

The harrasment did not end there. I told the workshop people that I am still going to pay them the full amount and take my car as I do not have the time to come again the next day.

I was going to make the full payment by cheque and the workshop refused to take payment and said they only take cash. I asked them to show me where in their terms and conditions it is mentioned that payments are to be made by cash only. HOwveer since I was not carrying so much cash I called the MAruti helpline number to register my complaint that:

Firstly, false delivery dates were given to me and then when i reached the workshop the vehicle was not ready.

Secondly I was not informed anyting about their policy on payment. As always with all my other cars, the service centers deliver the car and take their payments at the time of delivery.

When registered a complaint with the Maruti helpline I was given the number of the regional office in Lucknow and the territory sales manager Mr. Aporva promised me that the car will be delivered after completing all works to my office address the next day i.e. 10th August. He assured me several times that the car will be delivered before noon.

However today all day i spent in following up with him and his boss Swapnil and the car was never delivered. Late evening the workshop people came to my office with the bill and said that first the cash payment needs to be made after which they will release the car. they did not get the car and said that first they want the payment.

This is complete harrassment. No service center first demands the payment. How can I make the full payment without first seeing if my car is in proper condition or not. HOw can a customer make the full payment without delivery of the car. What assurance do I have that my car will be delivered to me in proper condition after I make the payment. I need to check the condition of the car for which they have raised the bill and then pay the workshop.

And now I am not getting any help from maruti. I registered a complain with them with the assurance that they will sort this out with the dealer but to my regret they are not doing anything but only making false commitments. Since yesterday on every phone call i am getting just false assurance and now today evening they refuse to sort the problem.

No where can a workshop demand full payment without showing/giving a test drive of the vehicle. I have also told them that I do not want a test drive just give me my car and if any works are pending I will get it fixed from come local workshop in my area as I am very tired of chasing the workshop.

But I wil not make the payment without checking that my car is in proper condition with all accessories in place.

Request your mediation.

Amrita Sachdeva.
