Ll-mannered and discourteous behaviour by attendant of Lilliput Store, Mega Mall, Gurgaon – Mr. Abhishek

I, the undersigned, very regretfully would like to bring to attention the Ill-mannered and discourteous behaviour experienced by me at the hands of the attendant – Mr. Abhishek at your one of the retail outlet - Lilliput Kidswear Ltd., Shop No. 135, 1st Floor, Mega Mall, Gurgaon-122002 (Haryana).

On 14th December some articles vide Bill no. 0030008761 dated 14/12 were purchased. On reaching home, it was discovered that the footwear (Article No. 10071457) was defective. The next day, the defective footwear was shown at the store and requested to replace the same with another pair (same article / size). It was told that similar pair was not in available in stock and thus the defective pair was surrendered at the store and an Exchange Coupon (copy attached) for getting a fresh pair after a day or two was given. After two visits, it was finally told on 19/12 by Mr. Abhishek that the pair of desired article has not arrived in stock. At this I asked him to refund the amount or give Credit Note for future purchase. But he declined to either refund the amount or issue Credit Note stating company’s policy. Subsequently, I requested him to refer me to senior person for discussion on this issue, which was refused by him saying that he is the senior most / final authority. I felt harassed on Mr. Abhishek’s irresponsible and rude behaviour / response. I felt cheated as I was given defective footwear after paying full price. We had to suffer both mentally and physically for visiting/commuting the store thrice to get the footwear to our daughter for her Birthday. She was deprived of wearing the new pair in question on the occasion of her Birth Day.

I cannot expect such disregardful and irresponsible behaviour from a retail store of a prestigious brand company like Lilliput. It was immensely regrettable and bitter experience for me, which caused me a lot of mental harassment.

I have highlighted the problem via email to Customer Care, Lilliput with C.C. thereof to the M.D. of the company and also sent a reminder. But to regrettably, no response was received.

Now through Indian Consumer Complaints Forum, I want to bring to attention of Lilliput Management the above unsavoury episode ask them to let me know the company’s policy for defective pieces and appropriateness of Mr Abhishek’s behaviour in this regard and if this behaviour is not as per company’s policy, action required under company’s rules & Regulations against the concerned Lilliput Store, especially against Mr. Abhishek.
