This relates to an order passed by High Court of Mumbai with regard to . public interest litigation no 83 of 2009 filed by myself Reji Abraham president of N.G.O. united association for social educational and public welfare[reg.], this p.i.l. was filed to protect the destruction of a 5 acre covered wetland at Charkop a part of north mumbai suburbs, since this would in addittion to destroying a natural wetland would lead to large scale flooding in the event of heavy rains as was the case on 26th july. even Bombay Natural History Society supported our cause to save this beautiful wet land . unfortunately due to manipulation of revenue records, this wetland could not be protected, however the high court passed an order making it mandatory for the people constructing buildings on this plot to make provision for constructing storm water drain to prevent any kind of flooding, and the cost for same had to be borne not by B.M.C., unfortunately today the work to construct the storm water drain though on its last leg this cost is being incurred through public funds, this not only is sheer waste of public funds since this cost was not to be incurred by municipality. please take action againt the guilty officials resposible for wasting lakhs of public money which could have been used for other work by the cash starved mumcipality of mumbai only to protect the interest of the builder mafia. my contact no 09969636309
