Delhi Heart and Lung Institute
Medical Negligence on the part of Doctors

A bypass surgery (CABG) was performed on my father who is 65 Years old at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute (DHLI). My father is a chronic patient of Rheumatoid Arthritis for the past 28 years. He was taking sedative medicine Larpose in high quantity due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. The doctors told us that it is a minor surgery and the patient will recover in a week's time. About one week after the surgery was performed my father had seizures in the hospital. They started giving medicines and my father condition after that went downhill. About 15 days after the surgery they discharged my father from the hospital even though my father's condition was not good at that time. After that my father was admitted in other hospitals and his condition did not improve. In the meantime my father also was diagnosed with a severe blood infection. The doctors in other hospital said that my father's current condition was due to drug mismanagement on the part of Delhi Heart and Lung Institute. The doctors at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute suddenly decreased the dosage of Larpose which was not the right thing to do. The seizures, loss of appetite and acute weakness was due to the sudden reduction in the dosage of Larpose. My father after about 1.5 months of surgery is still in the hospital and his medical condition is still not stable. Such greedy and crooked doctors and hospitals should be brought to justice. The emotional distress to my father and family due to these greedy and crooked doctors should be compensated financially by the hospital.
