To Airtel,

I am Mayank Aggarwal, a resident of east Delhi. From last so many years, I have been using the Airtel broadband connection and that too without any problem.

15-20 days ago, I got a router (Beetel’s 450 TC1 ADSL2 Router) installed at my home at a cost of Rs 1, 500. But since that day I am having a horrifying experience with Airtel.

Though internet in my desktop works fine because of the wire attached to it, I have faced numerous problems while using internet in my laptop (using wi-fi). I have complained to your customer care executive on 121 and 198 several times. Your representatives have also come to my house.

But nothing has helped. When Airtel was installing Wi-fi connection at my home, no one told me that there will be connection problem because of doors or concrete walls.

My wi-fi router and desktop is installed is in one room while I use my laptop from the adjacent room. It is not even 10 metres. Airtel representatives had promised me a range of 25 metres.

This is not all, even when room doors are open (which is not possible for 24*7especially during night when I generally use my laptop sitting in my bedroom while my sister is sleeping in her room where router is kept), the wi-fi connection doesn’t come and internet is not working for 99 percent of times, even when the range is not more than 10 metres.

For most of the times, there is no wif-fi connection in the laptop forcing me to come and use the desktop again. Laptop settings have been checked time and again by both your representatives who visited my home and those who tried solving the issue while talking on customer care.

It’s quite natural that a house will have walls and doors. So, isn’t this funny when AN ENLIGHTENED TEAM MEMBER MR PANKAJ OF AIRTEL’S TECHNICAL TEAM CALLING FROM NOIDA FROM PHONE NUMBER 0120 – 4224290 ON 14 FEB AT 11:13 TELLS ME: ”Sir, our guy must have forgotten to tell you about this at the time of installing the wi-fi.”

Another gem of the reply came from your representative who visited my house on Feb 12 – Saturday. He tells me sir Netgear’s router is better and can give better performance even when doors are closed. The router of Beetel Company that is installed at my house is there because of company policy and doesn’t offer that great a connection.

Is it so funny and natural for Airtel to loot its customers like this. Is Airtel so casual like this with its customers?

Kindly reply and solve the problem. Otherwise please just remove the Airtel connection and refund my money including that paid for router installation.

I will approach an appropriate place like a consumer court if the esteemed company Airtel fails to solve the issue at the earliest.
