While coming from Pune on way to our village in Buldhana district, the contractor appointed by Aurangabad Municipal Corporation to collect octroi had taken octroi charges for old fridge (original bill of the fridge shown) which was just passing through Aurangabad.
Is there any rule which says that "OCTROI WILL BE CHARGED ON ITEMS WHICH PASSES THE CORPORATION LIMIT"?
This means that we are paying octroi just for using the State Highway built by the government which happen to pass through Aurangabad city.
Is it correct? or the contractor goons have extracted money from us?
