Borivali Railway station - Mumbai
No Exit for the platform number 8

Borivali local railway station's (Mumbai) Platform number 7 and 8 are newly constructed without any planning or foresight. There is no exit for platform number 8 for passengers going to SVP Road (Borivali West) or anywhere. For passengers going to platform 1 from platform 8 or vice versa, they will have to walk for almost one km as the paltform number 1, 7 and 8 are in one straight line ahead of each other and not parallel to each other. All these paltforms are always crowded and very difficult for walking during the rush hours. Platforms ar also slippery during the monsoon. There should be arrangement of a walker - travelotor - horizotal escalotor (electric sliding automatic walking path as available on some of the leading international airports like Singapore, Hong Kong etc) for elderly people, young children, pregnant ladies, disabled passengers as well as passengers with luggage. I'm sure there will be big corporate companies who would like to sponsor the cost of the walker for a social cause if they are allowed to do their products advertisement in return. If not western railway can spend this much amount for the convenience of the passengers from whom they collect so much of revenue in the form of rail tickets .(For the above problem there is an interesting article in the Times of India dated 19th Aug - Mumbai Edition)
