HP DV4-1240TX Laptop
LCD panel goes defective in just 5 months of purchase

I bought a HP DV4-1240TX laptop from E-Zone (Nirmal Lifestyle, Mumbai) on 27th of March. On 15th August its LCD panel started showing pink colour lines at the bottom of the screen. Initially I thought it’s a problem in the operating system, however on searching over the web I realised that it’s an issue with HP laptop. On 27th August I visited HP’s authorized service center Simtech Computronics Pvt. Ltd. (Nr. Saki Naka, Mumbai) (CASE NO. 4602952571). There the engineer told me that the screen will be replaced as it has gone defective. Since the screen was not available in their warehouse, he informed me that it will be ordered from Bangalore. Its been already 17 days (27.08.2009 – 14.09.2009) and there is still no sign of availability of the part. Every time I call the service center, I get to hear the same response that the panel is not yet received and it may come in 2-3 days but no commitment is given as such. I have written to HP sales employees, had numerous chat with their online help and customer care over phone but all in vain. HP's employees are trained well to give false or no commitments to their customers.

I have already lost over half a month of laptop warranty and have no hopes to get my case resolved in near future. If the part is not in stock then I should get a complete replacement of the laptop. May be this is just a beginning and other parts may start giving way over next few months.

I would request you to please help me sort out this issue quickly.

Regards,

Abhinav
