I'm logged onto my ICICI Direct account and i see this interesting link flashing on ICICI Direct about some retirement plan from ICICI prudential, so i click on it, n out pops a form with my details already filled in and a calculator. Out of sheer curiosity, i type in some number (1, 00, 000) to see what kind of retirement money they pay to people who shell out 1, 00, 000 per year for the next 26 years.
...then, gratified by the numbers which show up, I just ignore the apply button down at the bottom and close the window.(not my cup of tea).
Next day, I’m looking at my bank statement... to see a withdrawal of Rs 1, 00, 000 from ICICI prudential. They have withdrawn money from my account without my consent or approval to do so.
Moreover, countless calls later, they say they have no record of the transaction or of any policy in my name.
Finally, i had to shoot an email off to ICICI prudential, who say they will get back to me after 5 days.
Taking money out of my account without approval is akin to robbery!! Now i do not have the money and for no fault of mine!!
