I have entered into an agreement of Paying guest wherein one room in an apartment hass been let out to me for a "fix period of 11 months". The duration of the agreement is 11 months. However, there is no exit clause mentioned in the agreement i.e. there are no ext criteria mentioned. Now, for some personal reasons i wish to vacate the premises, but the landlord says that since there are no exit clause and since the agreement is for a fix period of 11 months, i cannot vacate the place before 11 months and if i do so, i'll be liable to pay him the rent for 11 months.
No such thing was mentioned at the time of entering into the agreemtent and this particular thing is not explicitly mentioned in the agreement. Does it hold and am i liable to pay the landlord for the entire 11 months? Please help since this is nothing short of cheating.
