I own a flat in Jain Housing's Kences Retreat in Virugumbakkam, Chennai. I want to share my experience as a NRI on how Jain Housing cheats on you especially on the car parking allotment.
I was one of the earliest to book in this project of Jains. At that time I was offered the choice of apartment, choice of the floor and the choice of the blocks (they have 9 blocks) in total. I paid every installment on time and took possession of the flat. I was never told which car park slot was allotted to me. When I asked this I was given an open parking slot that is about a 5 minutes walk from my apartment even though there were plenty of spaces close by. It was an open car parking slot while I had paid about 1.5 lacs for a covered car parking. I am still fighting with them on this and they never respond to my emails or even personal visits to their office by my father who is 71 years old. I would never suggest Jains to any of my friends who are interested in purchasing a flat. This is all the more tragic because we know of our neighbours who have been allotted 2 car parking slots while we do not have even one. We are thinking of going to the consumer court to file our grievance. Hopefully they will be able to help us.
