Defective charge

I bought a Nokai Mobile, Model 1650 on 17/07/08. The battery charger was found defective right from day one. When I approached the local Nokai Care Centre in Ranchi, I was asked to surrender the charger and wait for the replacement which may take around 20 days as it will come from Kolkata, which is just over night journey from Ranchi. I don't understand why can't they keep such items readily available at the Local service centres. The fact that the charger failed on its very first use speaks very poor of Nokia quality standards. Hope Nokia takes necessary steps to arrange for replacement of battery charger at the earliest.
