We (Indian citizens) had applied for a passport request on 14 August under tatkaal scheme.
We intended to apply for passport within 14 days scheme - Rs.2000. The officer incharge at RPO, Lucknow refused stating we can apply only for 7 days scheme - Rs. 2500 for tatkal service.
Multiple copies of SDM, Kanpur city - Verification certificate were also enclosed in the documents submitted at RPO, Lucknow alongwith the original.

Today is the 14th day from date of application.
We need your kind assistance in above regard.
It brings us great displeasure in the government service wherein we are promised (as legal citizens of India) a passport within 7 days and 14 days (twice the promised time) have passed and passport is still pending.
We were compelled to pay for 7 days service (Rs. 2500 instead of Rs 2000) inspite of our intention to pay less (Rs. 2000) for 14 day service by the officer in charge (at the form collection centre, rpo, lucknow).
Please help at the earliest.
