REQUIREMENT OF ECNR STAMP ON PASSPORT FOR VISITING UAE

Dear Sir,

On 13th February I visited Passport Office Ahmedabad for getting deletion of ECR stamp from the passport of my wife because she met the requirements for ECNR including the age..

I was told by the P.R.O. that ECNR stamp has been discontinued and one can travel to any country, including United Arab Emirates, even if his or her passport has ECR stamp marked on it.

Will you be kind to confirm this?
