I missed my bill payment of Aug’12 for credit card no - **** **** **** 2281 amounting to Rs 10550.
For security reasons I have not updated my Credit card but to track my account refer reference no 75425312255 of my last transaction.
The reason I missed out the payment –
a) I have only received mini statement from Citibank since June to Aug’12 though I paid all bills on time except the Aug’12 statement.
There was no clarity on my usage and charges billed to me and I thought on receipt of statement will pay the bills, which didn’t happened
b) I received a mail on 16th Aug’12 giving information on outstanding amount and due date. (refer attached mail) I have not received the Statement for Aug’12 till date.
c) There is no reminder SMS or mail sent before due date to remind customers on the outstanding amount.
Saturday, I got a call informing on my previous outstanding amount and current bill value. I shared my grievances with her but she just asked to call the Customer service Desk or write an email.
On top today I checked my Sept statement mailed to me on 15th Sept and was shocked to see an abrupt late fee of Rs 600 and Interest charges of Rs 390 approx.. billed to me.
The Bank is more keen in charging Late fee and Interest to tenured customers who pay regularly and before due date rather having some sensitivity built to cater such customers.
You can ask collection team to call for outstanding amount but there is no process to call a customers before Or on due date reminding of payment.
I have made an online payment via ICICI bank of Rs 24900 towards Aug and Sept’12 statement, please update your records
I hereby expect the Bank to give some consideration of my past payment history / AON and reverse the Late fees and Interest charged to me.
