Dear Sir, My Father in law has submitted a death claim with LIC of India. We have submited all the documents. Now they are asking Original death certificate. Already we have submitted attested copy of the same. But they are asking original. We have told them that chennai and Coimbatore corporations are not issuing physical copies of the certificates, so, it is not possible to get the same. But still they are asking and holding the claim. Also, we have told them that it has been mentioned in the certificate that signature is not required in original. The authenticity of this certificate can be verified at www.chennaicorporation.gov.in. The Registration number is unique to each death. But they are not accepting and telling that they dont have internet facility and they are not in a position to check it out and asking us to get the certificate.
