I had been using airtel for more than 2 years and i had enable ECS direct debit option for making payment easy. As i was planning to relocate to UK, i opted to cancel my account with airtel.I had requested airtel for cancelling the account on Sep 12th 08 and was confirmed it would be cancelled by 14th of Sep by phone. After making a request via phone also i had mailed them officially for deactivating my account, i instantly got a reply that airtel customer care person would reply in 24 hours but no action for the mail.
My account was not deactivated till november and amount from my bank was debited every month inspite of making formal request for cancellation by mail & phone. From the time i observed a bill statement generated for october month I had been reminding about my cancellation atleast four times via email but no replies from any airtel customer service.
Finally after deducting the amount for november i got a mail from airtel customer service that your account is deactivated. Please see the mail below... Mail says deactivated and bill generated for zero usage but Rs 158 has been deducted from my account which is reflected in my account.
