GPRS download and charges

Hi

I have an airtel postpaid connection and have been using it for official purpose.

From 7th evening onwards I have been getting messages from the 646 numbers saying that I have downloaded a lot of WAP applications. These messages kept coming again and again.

I called the customer care on 7th evening and they said they cannot do anything as the bill was not generated. The messages kept coming saying the I have been charged Rs99, 50, 10, 15 etc.

Soon the bill reached Rs 2400 on 10th Dec (It was Rs 114 on 7th).

I complained 2 times to Airtel and started calling the nodel officers but nobody was responsible enough to give any meaning full explanation. My numbers outgoing was bar'ed. My bill was generated on 12th and then I called the nodal office and they dint have any valid explanation. Now as of 16th I totally lost the connection. Right now they dont even respond to my calls.

I want to take some action and considering going to consumer court.

My advise to all ..please dont use or suscribe to Airtel live services as the company or the people dont have any idea of whats going on and why bill of such magnitude was generated in a span of 2 days. FYI my airtel bills have always been under Rs 500 for the past 1 year.
