Transfer of modem with internet connection

HI

i had airtel broadband connection in my father's name in Indore. when i joined in Bhopal i asked airtel to transfer our broadband connection to Bhopal. i had changed my ordinary modem to a wifi-enabled one a couple of months ago and i brought that modem with me. when airtel guys in Bhopal came to activate my internet connection i had to pay Rs 200/- as security against the modem (which i did not need, adn did not take) here in Bhopal again. After i began using my connection here, airtel people began troubling my parents for the modem in Indore. they have double security against that modem, they have proof (they have the serial number of the modem i am using- in Bhopal also they noted it down) that i am using that modem for airtel connection only, and i don't have a new modem here. still, they are asking us to courier that modem back to indore and again pay for a new wi-fi modem here in Bhopal.

my question is why are they harassing my parents like this? and what is the use of subscribing to a large company like airtel if they are going to behave like a small local comapny, and refuse to let us use a modem we have paid twice for, and transger it with our airtel connection??

maybe there was a mistake but, when i asked for the tranfer over email and over the phone why was i not isntructed to hand over the modem? when i was getting the connection here, why was i not instructed then??

now why should they upset and harass my parents in Indore??? i won't get a refund instantaneously but i'll have to pay for the new wifi mdoem right now!

what is the use of trusting a company like airtel if it is going to behave like this with 4 yrs old customers?? and we even use a prepaid sim card of airtel's! why shouldn't we stop using their services if they are going to trouble their honest and paying customers like this??

I hope someone high up looks into this incident and changes their behaviour and policies in favour of the customers. it has been very troublesome and worrying and disgusting to take care of this entire issue as i have not been dishonest with the company in any way, and have actually paid more than i should have had to.
