I took Airtel Prepaid number in name of PARSHAV JAIN (9717249691) from New Friends Colony Relationship center in first week of June 08. I opted for life time plan. I paid for sim charges, life time plan and submitted the necessary documents along with alternate contact number. After approximately two months on 23 July 08 Airtel barred my number WITHOUT ANY INTIMATION. After contacting Airtel customer care they informed me that due to address verification failure number got barred and I should submit documents again. On 25th July, I also purchased talk time for Rs 222/, however, even they don’t intimated me that number is not working and Airtel just put money in their pocket. On 29th July 08, I again submitted requested documents at Dwarka Airtel Relationship Center. However, my number was not activated till date. Again, when I contacted Airtel, they told me that the number is PERMANENTLY DISCONNECTED. This time also they disconnected MY NUMBER WITHOUT INFORMING ME. Relationship center informed that Airtel gives 15 days time for submitting documents. However, I submitted the documents within 6 days, even they disconnected my number.
Economic damage is very nominal say Rs 100 for sim charges, Rs 300 for life time plan, Rs 222 on recharge. However, the inconvenience caused cannot be measured. Airtel is harassing their customer. They are not providing services. It was really a mess. Airtel did this because i have paid money for lifetime connection. Instead if I would have given application for cancelling any postpaid connection Airtel contacts its customer atleast 10 times and will explain me 100 alternates. But in case of lifetime prepaid number Airtel never contacted me not even one time.
