Please do not use Airtel mobile services

I've been with Airtel for 8 years (since 2001) and found that they just don't care. Today my number says 'it does not exist'... for no reason. All bills are paid on time.

No one could help me at their call centre either (they mentioned the software has automatically deactivated the number). And because its completely deactivated WITHOUT any notice, they can’t reinstate it either. They told me to go to a nearby store. I went to three stores in Bangalore but none of them have any idea and one silly reason is ‘today is a holiday at our backed team...’. Then they told me to write an email to 121@airtel... which I did and I called again to find that they will get back to me in 24 hours. Can any company be more pathetic than this? Maybe these guys will rectify their mistake... but I am sure no one has patience and time for this.

Sadly I am also a shareholder of Bharti. I just went and took another number from another provider. I wish number portability was there.. but the pain of changing your number is still lesser than dealing with Airtel.

We are not expecting miracles from mobile service providers like Airtel, but please not this. I STRONGLY advice all consumers not to go with Airtel.
