Global Vision
Fake Donations

Dear Citizens,

This is regarding an NGO by the name and style 'Global Vision' having its registered office in Thane (Maharashtra). They claim to help needy cancer patients who do not have funds for their treatment in the cancer hospitals specially small children. They employ helpless youngsters who are in need of proper jobs. They are asked to go around the city and ask for Donations by showing fake photographs and content of young children who are suffering from Cancer. In my case I was approached by them through a woman who came to my office situated in South Mumbai asking for some donation. They speak in broken english and carry all the material which looks authentic at the first glance. After seeing the photograph of the child I gave a donation of rupees 1500. She gave a receipt of the same and took my passport size photograph and promised that I will get an identity card of a social worker. This happened on 13/08. The card never reached my office, thereafter again in September 2nd 2010 I was approached by the same NGO but with three different people showing the same photograph of the child and asked for some Donation. I showed them the previous receipt but they insisted on a small amount. I gave them 500 rupees and they promised me to send the id card which never came. Then in the month of October one more lady came and asked for some donation by showing the same photograph but this time I threw her out. I appeal to all the honest citizens of India to stay away from such organizations.
