Indian Immigration department at Mumbai International Airport are illiterate, does not know the rule and behave very rudely, God teach Mumbai Immigration department, how to treat customer and need to educate how to talk with their customers.
We NRI faced many times the arragance and rude behavior of Immigration department at Mumbai International Airport.
There is a rule in USA, a Indian citizen person can travel with Indian passport until the 3 months grace period once opted for US Citizen.
When we approach at Mumbai airport during our 15 days transistion period, after acquiring the US Citizenship.
we carried supporting documents of Travisa, stating that NRI can travel up to 3 months with India passport.
The immigration officer did not listen and rudely behaved and took our Indian Passport and did not gave any time for to discuss or show the supporting paper, he was yellling on us, not sure why such behavior folks are employed ill government department.
When we show him the online print of grace period of renunciation, he simply throw the papers without reading.
I got an e-mail from Indian Consulate, that we can travel with Indian passport within 3 months of opting the US citizen ship.
Because of imcomplete knowledge of immigration office we are suffering lot...
God help Mumbai Immigration department
