Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB)
On verge of denying free passes to life members on filmsy grounds

After "renovating" the Eden Gardens resulting in reduced capacity, CAB is trying every trick out of the book to deny tickets to genuine members. Last year there was no match involving free passes and naturally life members did not get their cards "renewed" (the concept of renewal of life membership cards in itself is filmsy).

It has been a common practice to get cards renewed during matches involving free passes. Members/their representatives get their cards "renewed" and get their free passes at the same time but now on the filmsy pretext that they came out with some low profile, obscure notice some months ago, they are refusing life members "renewal" and threatening to deny free passes for the forthcoming matches slated at Eden Gardens.

This is unethical and illegal.

Why have they kept this provision of "renewing" cards of life members in the first place? How could they rely on some newspaper notice on such matters?
