Cheating customers by taking money for Broadband connection

Part-1 : Feb - before going to UK I disconnected my Airtel connection. Well we personally went to the airtel office and written an application for disconnecting my landline connection. Also we paid the pending bill of 1200 (Apprx) to Airtel. Airtel has given us a receipt and told us that your connection will be terminated within couple of days and they will refund the security deposit of 500 RS. We waited for few days and there was no response from Airtel. However we were not able to wait further as we left for UK

Part 2: We came back from UK in 2009. July 15 I followed up with the Airtel Sales represenatives for getting a Broadband connection. I went to their Begumpet office and enquired regarding the packages etc. They told me that Rs: 500 is the installation charge and one represenative (Mr Srinivas Yadav) will come to your home and do the necessary documenations etc. Srinivas Yadav from Airtel visted my home and collected relevant documenation and finally told me that I have to Pay Rs 1000. Well it's quite strange, the Begumpet office told me that it is Rs: 500 and you are telling me Rs: 1000. Why there is an inconsistency here? He told me lot of cock and bull stories and finally he agreed to take only Rs 500.

The next day he came to my home and given me an old and used modem. He told me that as you are paying only Rs 500 you have to use this modem. This is something I have arranged for you. I have told him that I am getting broadband connection from "BRAND AIRTEL". He said sorry to me assured me a new modem, however requested me to keep the modem with me. He told me to tell lie to the Airtel Audit team stating that the modem is already with me. I resited initally, however agreed to him finally to tell lie to the Audit & Verification team. My impression about Airtel got changed and I was completely pissed of with the way they do the service.

Well after another week he came and told me that I have not cancelled my previous connection although I had submitted the request for cancellation in the year 2007 (Part-1). I have given the zerox copy of the receipt of the payment of the bill and application number for cancellation. Srinivas Yadav told me that it is enough and he can sort out this issue. Next day he told me that I have to pay again Rs 500 for the previous landline connection. I really got frustrated and pissed off. I told him to return my money, he had taken for giving me a broadband connection. He told me that it will come as cheque and he cancelled my application. This all happended 15 days back and I still following up with this crooks to get my Rs 500 back. He finally told me that he will come to my house on 20 th August to explain. I may finally have to file a police case against this fellow. I have decided not leave these crooks for the public interest.

I have summarized this story. I might have called this Srinivas Yadav at least 25 times. I now understood why Great corporation fails by having these kind of crooked sales man in their team. I have decided never/ever to deal with airtel again. Next i will initiate a mail campaing to all my near, dears, friends and all the known groups to tell how AIRTEL is cheating the subscribers.

Summary: Avoid Airtel and do ever deal with Srinivas Yadav. He is a cheater who fradueltly takes money from you in the name of giving Broadband connection.

Note: In the mean time I applied for BSNL broadband connection and you cannnot believe that I got my landline number in 10 minutes and the connection in 7 days.
