Excess bill/websites not opening

I am based out of Adyar, Chennai. I have a landline and wifi connection from AIRTEL.I had called an airtel employee called Suresh, who set up the connection for us, to enquire about my bill (first bill) details. He was surprised that the bill amount was so high and said ours was not an unlimited connection, hence we were getting thousands in DSL charges, and he said would get it done immd to unlimited.this happened three months back.subsequent month I didnt get the bill, but based on a call of AIRtel, I paid the bill. So I didnt know if they had changed the connection or not, I assumed they did. The next month I got the bill late and in that again I had some thousand odd for DSL charges, enquired immd, came to know that it was not changed two months back. Now, I got a fourth bill also for the same old plan.when I called on 121 and tell them that I had informed their employee suresh they say there's no record of any change request, when I ask Suresh, he says he told them!! I do not understand who I should talk to, Is their employee's word not important for the organisation or is the employee bluffing to me?? In either case, why should I pay the bill?? Request airtel to waive off these charges immediately else I will have no other go but to go to the ombudsman.
