Harrasement for bill payment
I had taken 2 corporate numbers frm Airtel. One was used by me and another was being used by a friend. Last week an executive from Airtel(which i guess was from a collection agency) called me saying that he is from a courier company and came to my place. I mean what kind of way is this to contact a customer. He was very rude and threatened me to pay the bill of another Airtel which was being used by a friend of mine and I was unaware that the bill were not paid from past 3 months. Airtel or any of their collection agency has never contacted me earlier to even inform that the bills were pending else I had no issues clearing the amount and disconnecting the number. This was utter nonsense and I was very frustrated with it. I told the executive that I will go to Airtel outlet and the pay the bill but the executive was very rude and threatened me to pay the bill in cash that very moment. I was scared as I/ was alone at my home and his body language was suggesting that he is going to barge into my home at any moment. Atlast I called the Airtel customer care and spoke to a supervisor who in return spoke to the executive. I paid the bill immediately the moment the exec left online. But it was so much of mental harrasement for nearly 30mins from the exec. Airtel is should be careful when handling customers. As I am a loyal customer to them since past 3yrs. and I make my bill payments on the number that I was. And I was made to go through this trauma for something which was not my mistake. If they had only called me before on my number and informed that the other number payments are not paid by my friend I would have made payment and disconnected the number.
