Excessive bolling

For last couple of years or so I had subscribed to Rs. 99 per month unlimited internet usage GPRS plan of Airtel as part of my mobile connection with them. I was pretty happy with that. With that, my usual monthly bill used to be well under Rs. 500. Suddenly this month I get a bill of around Rs. 1600. There were absolutely no changes in my usage pattern. I complained to Airtel support about it. Support personnel informed me that more than Rs. 1000 in the bill is for GPRS usage. I was shocked. She took my complaint. After 4 days somebody from calls me back and say Rs. 99 per month unlimited internet usage GPRS plan does not exist anymore and they are charging for every byte or kilobyte I download during internet usage.

My complaint is how can Airtel change my monthly plan without notifying to me? They may (or may not be - I don't know) have right to discontinue certain plan. But no way under the sun they can do it without letting the customer know about it. Airtel is absolutely unapologetic about it. Instead the woman who called me to tell me that Airtel will not refund my Rs 1000 plus, which they billed be illegally, was out-right rude. I really feel like Airtel robbed this money from me. They cheated me.
