I have given a Airtel pre-paid mobile to my young kid - with no Internet/WAP/MMS services. This number is also registered under DND. I am horrified to see several junk/dirty SMSs on this number - which are basically PUSH messages. When called Airtel customer care (at 50paisa per minute) several times, they keep giving various instructions (such as send *567*2# etc) and every time different person gives different instructions - after repeating the complete problem for 10 minutes or more - but flow of SMSs continue.
Is there a way to penalize these mobile service providers for facilitating such SMSs and being so irresponsible to the society?
