I purchased an Airtel post-Paid connection with a special number by paying additional 2000 Rs.
I used it for some time and then I traveled abroad. So till the time I was out of India the number remained unused. (Approx 3 months). i.e. there were no outgoing calls.
Without any intimation / email / sms or enquiry, Airtel disconnected my number permanently. They did this despite the fact that I have been charged the rental for the said period.
I believe that the mobile service provider agreement with the subscriber doesn’t mention about any compulsory usage. If I buy an connection and don’t make any outgoing calls. I wish to use it just for incoming calls, I still pay the fixed rent. Then how can I be forced to make outgoing calls?
Airtel didn’t inform me about this policy while taking the connection nor did it inform the same while disconnecting the number.
During the same period I had a Vodafone number also, but Vodafone didn’t resort to such cheap activities to generate revenue.
And on top of it they are refusing to re-issue the same number back to me.
