No redressal of complaint, pathetic service

Hi, I had taken a postpaid Airtel SIM card from an Airtel Agency, after a lot of persuation and followup from the agency. I decided to take the SIM. From the day I've taken the SIM, I've had problems.

1. I was told that CLIP was free with the celebration 399/- scheme.

2. I was told that there would only be first time advance rent.

3. I was told that the SIM Card would be given to me without any deposit.

And a host of promises made by the agency. On getting the first bill, CLIP was charged. I spoke to an Airtel Executive and she asked me to go on another plan which would not have CLIP Charges and again the advance rent was charged to me for change of plan, and the executive told me, if the CLIP is charged, I should deduct CLIP Charges and pay the rest. As expected, the CLIP charges were charged in the next bill. I deducted the clip charges and paid the balance bill, the same continued in the next 2 bills. Now my Airtel has barred outgoing calls from this SIM. I spoke to another customer service executive about the same on Dushera i.e. 21.10.2007 and she has asked me to give the no. of the agency person, and promised that outgoing calls would be activated in 8 hours maximum. It is 22.10.2007 6.45 p.m. and the outgoing calls have not yet been activated.

I spoke to a customer service executive today i.e. 22.10.07 Mr. Ejaz, and he gave me a number and password, and that does not seem to be working either. On asking him to transfer the call, he says, that cannot be done. On asking him to transfer me to a responsible person, he is not ready to do so, as if he is the CEO of the company. And he cuts the call all of a sudden and says he is sorry that the call got cut.

This is the plight of a person who has been giving business to Airtel to the tune of minimum Rs. 399/- to min. 1000/- per month and Airtel gives this treatment to the customer.

I sincerely request the Complaints Board to take this up strongly with the company and request TRAI to look into this matter as Airtel expects customers to run from pillar to post for the mistakes that Airtel has done.

This is very unfair on Airtel s part and the highest authority has to be questioned and give an apology to all its customers in writing in the newspapers, as without the customers, he would not be No. 10 service provider in the world.
