I have couple of complaints against IRCTC online booking service.
1. It is observed that the online booking for Tatkal tickets does not take place from 08:00 Hrs to 08:40 Hrs using consumer IDs. However when we approach Agents they are able to get these tickets. For their service we need to pay them additional charges. Please find example : My friend Bhavana Singh was booking ticket from Renigunta to Pune on 23rd June 2012 for 24th train. Prior to 08:00 Hrs the availability was showing 172 tickets for Tatkal quota. Just at 08:00 Hrs our connection was not establishing. And we were seeing that the availability went on reducing. When it was 08:31 we got our ticket with PNR 4760666883 and the status was CKWL 55 and CKWL 56.
This signifies that there is some issue for Tatkal booking for individual customers. Agents are making good business as for the same train copassengers went to agent and they got their confirmed tickets.
In our area we are seeing that the agents are keeping their men in the queue for ticket booking for complete night who quarrel if normal passengers want their due preferance.
2. When there were around 100 tickets available and I was booking 3 2-tier tickets in Azad hind Express from Bhusaval-Pune. I was alloted with 3 Upper Birth tickets despite giving my In-laws age details. Programming need to be checked in this case for ticket reservation system.
