I am visiting India and had to get my hair cut, I went to a local market and entered this hair salon called Ambience. I asked him casually what the price for a haircut was and he said it was 150 rupees. I expressed surprised that compared to the street price of 20 rupees the difference was stark. The guy got extremely mad and started shaking - he said go away fast from here. I resented his comment then he came all the way out and showed very typically the delhi street guys that he was going to heait me and that he had paid 20 lacs for his shop. I could have easily got this guy into trouble due to some relatives in Delhi police but my aim for the stay is different. I am just appalled at the way Delhi residents behave.
The worst thing was that a small woman came out and told me in rustic english - you are little man, you go away. This is in supposedly very good area of delhi where educated folks reside- the experience suggested just the opposite. Out of nowhere the woman also said - you come from Bihar and you don't know. Now I am not Bihari however I felt really disgusted at the way these Indian people behave towards other Indians. Does delhi belong only to Punjabis, Jats and Gujjars or whatever this idiot was?
