Lost cheques from the Bhayander east ATM

I had dropped two cheques (Cheque no 471916 amount Rs. 20000/- and Cheque no 471917 amount Rs. 15000/-.) of axis bank in Bhayander east Axis bank atm centre by mistake on tuesday. The cheques were for my icici pru policies which I had to drop in the icici bank atm. After two days I got a call from one employee on thursday, Bhayander west Axis bank branch saying that we have received your two cheques, please come and collect as I was not getting time to go and collect during weekdays. I went there on satuday to collect my cheques.

To my astonishment, Manisha told me that they have received just one cheque only (471916 amount Rs. 15000/-) and handed me over that cheque.

My question from AXIS BANK is, Where my cheque went, which I had dropped in Bhayander East Axis bank ATM. Eventhough it was by mistake. When I made stop payment of that cheque 471916, Axis bank cut Rs. 111/- from my account. All rules are for customers. Is there any rule for bank. How bank will compesate me for the loss of my cheque. How they received one of the cheques, not the other.

Can anyone explain this. Please give me reply asap.
