Citi Bank Cheque No.246912 paid TO ICICI BANK LTD dated 25th Dec but how can you return the 25th Dec dated Cheque on 24th Dec?

I had given a Citi Bank Cheque No.246912 paid TO ICICI BANK LTD dated 25th Dec but how can you return the 25th Dec dated Cheque on 24th Dec? And more over they have deducted 270/- change from my a/c as returning charges of the cheque... I need to take it up very strongly
