Removal of my name from CIBIL

Dear Sir

HDFC bank had issued a credit card to me free of cost a few years ago. Before i signed up for credit card the bank representative re assured me that there would be no charges.. However i never used the card and in the first month itself i received a cc bill asking for charges on credit card.

upon speaking to their customer care they asked me that i can tear the credit card and drop it in HDFC banks drop box if i dont want it. I did the same. I have an excellent track record against credit repayment till date. But may be HDFC had reported the CIBIL that i am in default. Now, where ever i am applying for credit cards, the report comes as negative. Please do let me know what can i do now.
