Fore closure charges

Dear Sir,

I had taken a loan for a sum of Rs. 7, 50, 000/- in Oct. I had paid the interest since. I approached the bank for fore closure. The bank intimated the amount outstand as Rs. 7, 68, 000/- inclusive of 4% fore closure charges. This amount is over and above the interest charges which the bank is levying.

It is requested to intimate if the bank charging fore closure charges is correct as per the RBI norms.
