Membership Fee

I got my HDFC signature card. Customer Care confirmed me more than 3 times that it is a lifetime free card.

Even before swiping the card for the first time i confirmed with customer care once again that it is a lifetime free credit card. then after that when i linked the credit card to my account i saw that there are membership charges. When i called customer care once again they said it is a lifetime free card. When i asked them to look into the transactions they found that membership fees was there and they started saying that its a lifetime free card but you have to use it for 15K to get the membership fee reversed. told can you confirm that next year there will be no charges again. they said no, we cant confirm and we do not know.
