Inappropriate debit

I had a ICICI credit card on which some amount of interest was charged due to late payment. The reason being I was not receiving the statements. This amount coupled with interest and late payment fee grew to a substantial limit and automatically debited from my savings account which was unfortunately with the same bank (although I had not opted for any auto debit facility). In this manner I lost a substantial sum of Rs8000 approx. What can I do to recover this amount?
