I received a call from the following number :- 911409580045 at 1214 pm on 29.10.2011.

They told me that they are going to send me vouchers for travel, dining etc, within India with a 20% discount on the rack rates. They did not at any circumstances inform me that INR 5509.00 would be deducted from my credit card.

The representative on the phone told me that no money would be charged to my card and asked me for the details for my credit card which I gave away.

Later I tried ringing back the above number but could not get through. I then realised that this could be a fraud. The number when dialed only responds with number not in use.

I have already called up my credit card customer care and have asked them block this transaction. But I will only know for sure if this was blocked once I receive my statement.

Something has to be done about this kind of crime. It is a violation against the Right of Information.
