Tampered meter and rude behaviou

On 28th Feb evening at 7 PM, I boarded an autorickshaw with my wife and daughterat Manipal hospital, plate number KA-02B-0643 to get a drop at Marathalli market. I boarded several types in that route, so I expected a fare of around Rs 40 or so. When, the auto reached Marathalli market, the driver charged Rs 68. When asked the reason for higher charge, he pleaded that he took an U turn, going an extra distance of 2 km. We know that that distance was not more than half a kilometer. When we did not accept his plea, he became furious and in showed an attacking mood. We warned him that we might complain for his behaviour. He challenged that we were free to complain to the police.

Anyway, we had to pay him Rs 68, knowing it well that it was higher than normal, as we had no option. It is time to bring him to justice, as he would create similar nuisance with other innocent passengers.
